How do I reset my password or email address?
SECURITY NOTE: If you want to reset your password because you feel your old password and email backup link have been compromised, you will need to create a new wallet and move your funds there. Resetting your password and email does not invalidate them. Your old email backup link will still work with the old password.
If you want to change your password or re-send another email backup link in Exodus, you need to reset the backup process.
NOTE: If you have forgotten your password and cannot access your account, you'll need to restore from your 12-word phrase to regain access to your wallet.
If you lose access to your email backup or if you mistyped your email address into the backup process, or if you simply want to set a different password, follow these instructions:
NOTE: This reset process was improved on the latest version of Exodus. To reset your email or password be sure you upgrade to the latest version.
- Launch Exodus.
- Type your Password. (You must know your current password to change to a new password - this protects anyone from just changing your password.)
- Click on Backup.
- Click on the Reset Email & Password button. (Shown below)
- Exodus will Restart.
- For your security, when Exodus restarts type your old password again.
- The password and backup section will now be reset. You will then be taken through the backup process to setup a new password and email backup.
