What are personal notes, and why are they useful?

Personal notes allow you to add some information as a note to a transaction inside your Exodus wallet. This can be helpful to keep track of why you sent funds to a certain address or who the recipient was.

You can also edit or delete the note as many times as you want, whenever you want.

Who can see my personal notes?

Only you can see them! Your notes are encrypted with a key derived from your 12-word secret recovery phrase to keep them private and secure even when using Exodus across multiple devices.

This means the only way to decrypt this data is if someone knows your 12-word secret recovery phrase. For more information, visit: How does Exodus store my data?

Adding personal notes requires wallet access via the secret recovery phrase. If you notice notes that you did not create, your wallet may be compromised. In this case, please email Exodus Support at [email protected].
