For safety reasons Exodus stores your digital assets in a separate location on your computer. This design decision allows users to upgrade easily and makes it difficult for new users to accidently remove important files on their computer that are the keys to their digital wealth.
If you would like to uninstall Exodus or if you would like to erase your wallet and start over you can follow these steps.
WARNING: THESE STEPS BELOW WILL REMOVE YOUR DIGITAL ASSETS FROM YOUR COMPUTER AND THEY CAN NOT BE RECOVERED WITHOUT A BACKUP. BE SURE YOU HAVE SENT ALL OF YOUR ASSETS OUT OF YOUR WALLET OR HAVE A COMPLETE BACKUP BEFORE CONTINUING.
1. Quit Exodus
2. Remove the follwing folder containing your digital asset keys and wallet data on your computer. The data directory is located in different places depending on if you are on a PC, Mac or Linux.
Mac: Hard Drive > Users > YOUR-USERNAME > Library > Application Support > Exodus
Windows: C: > Users > YOUR-USERNAME > AppData > Roaming > Exodus
( Windows users may need to show hidden files to access this folder. )
Linux: home > YOUR-USERNAME > .config > Exodus
( Linux users may need to show hidden files to access this folder. On most Linux platforms you can turn on hidden files by typing Control + h )
3. Download the latest version of Exodus from:
4. Launch Exodus and you will now have a brand new wallet. Be sure if you begin to use this wallet you complete the backup process again.
